These are one of my new favourite treats, because not only are they delicious, they contain no refined sugar, and are free from dairy, egg, wheat and gluten!
We’ve been testing out the new Sweet Freedom Fruit Syrup range, and whilst you can make all the usual recipes such as pancakes, cakes, porridge, flapjacks and more, we thought we’d come up with something a little different.
A new recipe for you
This ridiculously quick and nutrient rich delight is packed with flavour, and even though they look like a naughty treat, they’re actually really good for you!
You will need:
- 1 cup gluten-free oats
- ½ cup coconut flakes
- ¼ cup cacao powder
- ½ cup mix of milled flaxseed
- 4 tbsp Sweet Freedom Fruit Syrup Dark
- ½ cup Choc Shot Coconut
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
Method:
Mix the gluten-free oats, coconut flakes, cacao powder and flaxseed in a large bowl until well combined.
In a separate bowl, add the fruit syrup, choc shot, vanilla extract and melted coconut oil and mix well before adding to the dry ingredients.
Make sure that everything is well coated in the choc shot mix, before covering and placing in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to set.
Remove from the fridge, take off the cover, and roll into little balls.
Place back in the fridge for a further 10-15 minutes to set fully before eating.
Enjoy!

Naughty but super duper delicious
So many techniques,
Leaves me in a haze,
It can be made up with many streams,
Or made up with many swirls,
A full bodied chocolate,
Or a cream,
But the best for me
It’s got to be a chocolate orange for me
