Oh my goodness, it’s 2018 already! Happy New Year everyone and I hope you all had wonderful, safe and reaction free Christmases!
As is tradition, at the beginning of the year, I like to look back on the recipes you all loved over the past year, and look at the new recipes we can bring you this coming year!
2017 saw our biggest year ever in terms of traffic, with just shy of 5 million hits over the year. That's truly mindblowing, and I honestly can't thank you enough for all your support. This website exists to help all of you, and to know that we are helping so many is what keeps us wanting to do more!
So, before I start with a long speech of thanks, let's move swiftly on to the top 10 recipes of last year.
There are some classics in the list this year, along with some new entries, and interestingly the majority are sweet!
In at number 10, it’s our Cranberry Crumble Bars. They’re perfect as a breakfast alternative, as part of a packed lunch or simply as a sweet treat!
At number 9, it’s our Nomato Sauce. For anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to tomato, this nomato sauce is perfect for you. Use it in any recipe that calls for tomato! It’s also packed full of vegetables so great for getting lots of nutrients into your diet.
At number 8, it’s our Allergy Safe Christmas Pudding. Not surprisingly, this recipe has proven extremely popular over the last few weeks, with thousands of you taking a look and trying it out!
At number 7, it’s our Chocolate Marshmallow Crispie Squares. If you have any Christmas chocolate hanging around, this recipe is great for helping to use it up and is the perfect sweet treat for little ones to make.
At number 6, it’s our Best Pumpkin Risotto. This has proven to be quite a big hit, not least because of the beautiful vibrant colours, and fresh flavours. It also uses our favourite a2 Milk which is easier to digest, good for tummies recovering from festive indulgence.
At number 5, we have our ever popular Perfect Free From Pancakes. These are wonderful as a breakfast alternative, and with Shrove Tuesday coming up in February, now’s the time to get practicing to make the perfect pancake for your family!
At number 4, it’s our now infamous Simple Chocolate Mousse! A previous top 2, this mousse takes less than 5 minutes to make, is vegan, gluten-free and healthy for you. What’s not to love?!
At number 3, we have our Blueberry Tea Loaf! This is one of our all time favourite recipes, light sponge with a burst of fruit juice from the blueberries. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a cup of tea!
At number 2, our Popular Chocolate Ice Cream retains its spot. You all go crazy for this recipe in the warmer months, as it’s ridiculously simple to make and tastes divine! It’s always a massive hit here too!
At number 1, our Thai Inspired Butternut Squash Soup takes the crown. Thousands of you have tried and tested this recipe and told us you love the warmth of the Thai spices coupled with the silky smoothness of the butternut squash!
What a year of recipes last year, we had so much fun creating them all for you!
