For anyone who follows a free from lifestyle due to allergies, or simply just because, then the Allergy Show taking place this weekend at London Olympia is THE event for you!

allergy show london 2018 - The event to visit for all things free from, including food, drink, and life style products. Featuring some of the worlds biggest brands and artisan producers too! www.intolerantgourmand.com

Recognised as the world’s largest celebration for free from food, drink and products, the Allergy Show promises to be a day out with a difference.

For the past few weeks, I have been working closely with a number of clients to help them get ready for the biggest event in the free from calendar, the Allergy Show taking place at London Olympia from 6-8th July! Having taken place for a number of years now, the London show has become a huge event with 100’s of exhibitors, and in excess of 30,000 visitors.

From stands, to the learning centre, demo kitchens and more, you can find out about favourite brands, discover new ones, and talk to other free fromers too!

I always go to the show, and over the past few years, have worked with a number of fab clients to support their stands too.

This year, you can see me cooking live on Doves Farm Guest Kitchen stage at 2pm on Sunday 8th July with Chef Steve Walpole. It’ll be a cooking demonstration like no other as we bring our love of food to the kitchen, showing you how cooking can be fun despite being free from!

As if that’s not enough, I’ll also be cooking on the Ugo stand on Saturday with Callum (as long as he’s recovered well from his op) and then later on, joining Cedric on the Freedom Mallows stand too!

We’ll also be found over at the Kids Zone with the fab team from Haydn’s Wish!

It’s sure to be a packed-out weekend.

Here’s my ‘Top 12 stands to visit’

Ugo Thrive – Stand A329 – Ugo are a family of passionate foodies, totally committed to creating natural and nutritious food using the finest, freshest ingredients and nothing else. They’ve been making fresh pasta and noodles in the UK for almost 90 years, combining four generations of Italian family know-how with award-winning innovation. As their new Ugo Thrive range shows, they continue to push boundaries in the pasta world!

Haydn’s Wish – Stand F17 – Home of the NEW Kids Zone featuring the Education Centre with Andrew (Consultant Allergy Nurse), a mum and baby feeding area, soft play, crafts, Kyle Dine bringing his musical magic and much more! Be sure to check it out, it sounds wonderful!

Freedom Mallows – Stand V113 – Freedom Mallows and the fabulous Cedric are changing the way marshmallows are perceived. Full of natural flavours and colours, and with a delicious taste, these gorgeous mallows are not only gluten, dairy, nut, fat, soy and GMO free, they are also gelatine free too! These mallows are Callum’s favourites, and if you’ve not tried them, quite simply you NEED to!! We’ve got a recipe using these fabulous mallows going live at the weekend, so be sure to pick up a pack so you can make the recipe!

Foods Matter – Stand A643 – Home of ‘The FreeFrom Awards’ incorporate the FreeFrom Skincare Awards, FreeFrom Eating Out Awards and FreeFrom Food Awards, Foods Matter celebrates the innovation and imagination shown by the food, food service and skincare/cosmetics industries in creating products that are free of wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, soya, sulphites and other allergens, undesirable ingredients or fragrances and artificial additives. It is the most comprehensive resource for allergy and intolerances online, and the awards that manufacturers want to win!

Freee by Doves Farm – Stand A533 - With decades of experience, in growing and sourcing the best produce, they’ve been pioneering in their approach to develop an award-winning range of free-from foods that we can all trust. They’re bringing their new gluten free products to the show, including Green Pea Penne, a Red Lentil Penne Maize and Rice Lasagne, Sponge Mix, Seeded Bread Mix and a larger size Buckwheat Flour!

Naturelly – Stand A535 - A naturally fun and fruity juicy jelly snack made with scrumptious fruit juice blended with water and a special gelatine free wibbly jelly. The Naturelly range has increased, and now comes in 5 refreshing flavours for all children aged 12 months plus. The range has no added sugar or sweeteners and have also been approved by the vegetarian and coeliac societies.

Orgran – Stand A607 – Our go to for egg free alternatives, Orgran recently won a FFFA for their version of ‘scrambled egg’. Orgran Natural Foods have been manufacturing gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, egg free, yeast free, GMO free and vegan foods for nearly 30 years with a collection of over 80 products in their range.

Sacla – Stand A505 - Established in 1939, in Asti and set up as a business to use the glut of vegetables grown, Sacla has been family owned from the beginning, and is now in it’s 3rd generation. Their now famous pesto was launched in 1990 and indeed Sacla were the first to launch such a product in the UK. It is sold in 60 countries worldwide. Now with a ‘free from’ section included in their range, pesto and mayo are back on the table!

Tesco – Stand A601 – 4 times retailer of the year (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) in the FFFA, Tesco Free From have been leading the way for retailers in terms of products available. Their now iconic free from garlic bread is multi award winning, as is Carl the Caterpillar. They often use the Allergy Show to launch new products so I’m excited to see what they will be bringing along this year. Definitely not a stand to miss!

Freaks of Nature – Stand A525 – Launched at the Allergy Show last year, this was THE stand to visit. The queues were the longest I’ve ever seen at the show, and their fantastic puddings have been taking the retail scene by a storm for the past 121 months. Once you’ve tasted them you’ll see why!

Allergy UK – Stand A202 – The UK’s leading allergy charity is back to provide support to those that need it most. The lovely team will be on hand as always, to answer any questions you have about allergies, and how best to live successfully with them. We’ve long been supporters of this fabulous charity as they were a huge support to us back in the early days of Callum’s journey when we were trying to figure out what was going on!

Asda Free From – Stand A333 – With an ever-increasing range of free from products, Asda is fast catching up with Tesco with their own impressive and multi award winning range! They were the first to bring a dairy free cheese to market that was also soya free and yet still behaved and tasted like ‘normal’ cheese which is no mean feat! Add to that their biscuits, breads, cereals and chocolates and you’ll see why we’re big fans!

Freaks of Nature was the stand I was most looking forward to visiting. I was also hoping to do some egg free campaigning to the supermarkets since they don't seem to listen! Maybe next year!
