Each week we introduce you to the people in the allergy world, be it businesses, blogs, or consultants!

Lyndsay Edwards - Living with CMPA

This week in our #5minuteswith series, we introduce you to the lovely Lyndsay Edwards who blogs at Living with CMPA. Her son suffers with cows milk protein allergy, amongst others, and Lyndsay's blog is full of helpful advice and recipes that are dairy-free. Lyndsay has also recently launched the Allergy Blog Awards, both here in the UK and also in the USA.

So, over to you Lyndsay!

5 random facts about you?

  • I was hit by a car at age 13 and I have been in pain ever since
  • I left school with no GCSE’s at C or above
  • I am a psychic medium - I can see past, present and future
  • I lived and worked at a Thai boxing camp in Thailand in 2010
  • When I discovered I was pregnant with my son I was on the other side of the world, staying in a hostel with very little money, no job and no boyfriend!

What is the story behind your blog?

My son has cmpa and other food allergies & intolerances, I started my blog to share what I know to help others - I don’t want anyone to struggle like I did in the beginning. It is also a great outlet for me.

Do you have a favourite place to work in?

I work in my lounge and alternate between 3 spaces, my dining table, the couch and what was my nursing chair (super comfy rocking chair) - I change where I sit according to my mood.

What do you do when you procrastinate?

I do something else, actually right now I am putting off a certain task because I am not in the mood so I’ll do this instead then hopefully feel up to doing that other job…!

Do you have a favourite quote?

Live and let live!

If you had an entirely free day to spend on your own doing something for your own pleasure what would you do?

I would go for a two hour Thai massage, have a nap, read and just generally chill out. If I was somewhere hot then I would just lay in the sun all day!

Do you prefer city, country or coast?

I like a bit of everything, my ideal place to live would be in a detached house with a huge garden away from any noise but not far from the beach and city so I can have noise and hustle if I feel like it.

Do you have a favourite book?

I’ve never read the same book twice but some I have really enjoyed are Practising the power of now and Please don’t make me go. I like to read real life stories or self-development books but I’m not a big reader as I have a very short attention span.

Are you a morning person?

Absolutely not.

Did you have a favourite television programme as a child?

Keenan and Kel - Who lurrrrrrvessss orange soda ?

What is the one thing you would tell your younger self?

Don’t give too much away, don’t tell your ‘friends’ everything because they’re not always true friends and find friends who aren’t jealous of you.

Tea or coffee?

Tea 100%

Sweet or savoury?

Savoury

What is your favourite meal and why?

One that I didn’t cook because it’s so nice to have a break from all the cooking and washing up - but really I love Thai food, Penang curry.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

Clairvoyant, CID, criminal psychologist, actress, TV presenter, world traveller

What is your favourite time of the day?

8pm - usually the time I sit down and have some me time or end up blogging.

What would your dream job be and why?

Clairvoyant because I love helping people and bringing them comfort and upliftment, I already do readings for others and plan to do it full time eventually.

What one bit of advice would you give to someone just starting out in the blogging world?

Don’t compare your blog to others, be clear about why you’re blogging and let that drive you! Stay true to you and your core values, don’t get lost in the hype and don’t let other bloggers bring you down.
